Micasa- House hunting App and website

Project Overview

Micasa is a house hunting app that solves the challenge of having to move around looking for a house with no avail. This app allows you to view verified property owners and all their vacant spaces, request for virtual tours and view the premises from the comfort of your palm.

Problem Statement

House hunting is an issue in Nairobi, most would describe it as a very tedious chore that would lead you to depression. From deceitful agents to not getting the right house, overpriced outlets, lack of security and important amenities and having to make a compromise or settle for something similar to what you wanted.

Detailed information page with the ability to request a virtual tour from the owner.

An app that enables tenants to have direct contact with verified owners and request virtual tours.

Quantitative Research

We took the approach of interviewing people via Twitter. Understanding the user is the most important part of designing something that will work for them. We highlighted some of the responses that stood out.

House hunting in Nairobi is an extreme sport. The number of fake property advertisements out here... If you're not keen, it's very easy to be scammed.

Someone needs to come up with a reliable website/app to aid in house hunting in this Nairobi. The few non-existent websites have very little information.

When you go house hunting in Nairobi ,you realize how ugly apartments are, it hurts to look at some of them . Price exaggerated, No character, no Natural light , tiny windows, awful finishings

Heh! House hunting in Nairobi is a nightmare. One ends up realizing they have standards that just don't meet the budget.

Observations

Users want to remove the hassle of searching endlessly and still having to compromise.

Users want to engage agents who will not extort or scam them.

There are many house hunting websites and apps however most are not as reliable as they should be.
